The Encyclopedic Dictionary of Mathematics arises from original research of the author. In this dictionary, we expose the association between numbers and geometries. This is a very useful book, which emphasizes on the origin of Mathematics. We appreciated the idea of a compendium of mathematical terms used in the science and engineering for two reasons. First, mathematical definitions are not easily located, when you need insight on a technical term. Secondly, we do not yet have a tradition of cross disciplinary terms. In fact, much interaction between mathematics and other scientific areas is in process. We suggest that all the definitions of this Encyclopedia could be used as background for a university course. There are definitions where the author conveys admirably his excitement over some unexpected and beautiful sequence of ideas. Updated in line with curriculum and degree requirements, the dictionary covers both pure and applied mathematics as well as statistics. There are entries on major mathematicians and mathematics. We can hope this book to provide at best, the small virtue to be a first of its kind. I think all students and readers interested in Mathematics should have this book. This book can be considered as an essential component of all institutional libraries.
