The Integrated Management of Pregnancy and Childbirth (IMPAC) is a strategy to improve access to and quality of maternal and neonatal health care. It comprises:
• evidence-based norms and standards of care;
• managerial tools of strengthen the capacity of the health care system;
• a process to foster involvement of individuals, families and communities; and
• an impleme strategy.
IMPAC is designed to be adapted to local situations and to be imjplemented in countries by the government, in collaboration with UN and bilateral agencies, non-governmental organizations and other partners at the national level.
